Here is the video codec output from AVIcodec. I am totally hooked on HDTV, but I need to conserve disk space by making mpegs, but I don't want to down-res them. ts and the mpeg look stunning on my portable. I've tried several process viewers, but I only get the aggregate media player CPU usage. How do I display which codecs are being used when I use RealPlayer or WMP-9.0?

This machine was able to play back the transport stream without stuttering or sync problems. CPU utilization is pegged at 100%, virtually all to Real Player or Win Media Player (neither can play back cleanly). When I play back on the HTPC machine with the DVICO card, the video jitters badly. When I play back the mpeg on my portable it plays fine (60%-65% CPU utilization).

The file is 6.5Gbytes for an hour, 1920x1080. I have a DVICO Fusion3 Gold and recorded a program and converted to mpeg with the DVICO converter without a resolution change.
